The recent rash of LGBT suicides really upset me last month...so I've been working on this piece for the past couple weeks.

The idea is that...something so beautiful, so unique (the unicorn) is being put to death, for maybe being a bit more colorful than the rest. And sometimes when I hear news like last month's suicides, it feels like no one cares about you.

But, that's not true.

Not in the least bit.

The world is full of hatred and contempt for the gay community. But that doesn't mean you should ever back down or change yourself. No one deserves to feel like they need to KILL themselves. Ever.

This is an issue really close to my heart, and if you have my Facebook, you'll definitely know it's something I go hardcore for.

The character here is rather androgynous so anyone viewing, no matter what you identify as, can feel connected. Because at our core, we are all the same, we are who we are. They appear to be dying, to be fading away but she's still got that spark of life...And if that's happening to you in your life right now, don't give up! Claw your way to happiness! I did it. It was hard as hell, but it does get better.


You may feel alienated and hated, but there are people like me that truly care about you and love you the way you are. I really want to help people through my art, and that's the direction I'm going to start going in now. Especially on LGBT issues.
